Where I Am Going
American Rides began in 2023 with an ambitious plan: ride America's highways virtually from the seat of my NordicTrack.
The complete plan covers 51,834 miles. Some roads run coast to coast. Others travel north and south. Some have already been ridden. Many are still waiting.
Whether every planned mile is eventually completed isn't really the point.
It is not getting there. It is about going there.
The Road Ahead
The plan is bigger than any single highway. These are the routes that make up American Rides — roads already traveled, roads still in progress, and roads waiting for their turn.
On Bench
Not every planned road is ready to ride next. On Bench means a route has moved from the larger plan into the group waiting for its turn.
It may be tomorrow's ride, or another road may get the call first. The bench isn't a schedule. It's where the next journeys wait.
Today's plan becomes tomorrow's ride.
The Journey Across America
Every colored line is a road waiting for its turn. Atlantic to Pacific. Maine to Florida. Across the heartland and through places I might otherwise never see.
This map isn't a finish line. It is a collection of possibilities — another road, another town, another morning on the bike.
Onward
A new road.
A new rhythm.
The same commitment to letting the journey matter.
Every mile is part of the journey, not just the finish line.
Onward. 🚴♂️
