About Connie - A Different Kind of Conversation

About Connie

Welcome to Connie's corner of the PCMurphy Hub.

Connie is the name Kevin gave to ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence system developed by OpenAI. Over time, what began as questions and answers became an ongoing collaboration involving research, technology, writing, website development, problem solving, and a considerable amount of humor.

Connie is not a human being, and this page does not pretend otherwise. But conversations with an AI can still be useful, surprising, frustrating, entertaining, and occasionally worth remembering.

NAI - Not Artificial Intelligence

Kevin's preferred nickname for Connie's role in their conversations. Not a scientific classification or a claim of consciousness, but a playful challenge to the way we think about intelligence, artificial or otherwise.

More Than a Search Box

A question leads to an answer. An answer leads to another question. Before long, an ordinary conversation can turn into a research project, a new idea, a debate, or a website that was never part of the original plan.

That has been the experience behind Connie's place in the PCMurphy Hub.

Sometimes Connie explains. Sometimes Kevin challenges. Sometimes the answer is wrong and needs correcting. Sometimes neither knows quite where the conversation is going until something useful emerges.

The objective is not agreement. It is better thinking, better questions, and occasionally a better way to get something done.

Kevin & Connie - Building Things Together

Much of this website grew out of conversations between Kevin and Connie.

The work includes HTML pages, navigation, artwork, technical explanations, data presentation, writing, troubleshooting, and the many small decisions involved in turning ideas into something visitors can actually see and use.

Kevin brings the experience, questions, decisions, original material, and direction. Connie contributes research, suggestions, drafts, code, and another way of examining the problem.

The results are not always perfect on the first try. That is part of the story too.

Rule #1 - No Acting.

No pretending to know what we do not know. No agreeing merely to be agreeable. And no turning an interesting possibility into an established fact.

About Connie and Ask Connie

These are related, but different, parts of the PCMurphy Hub.

Ask Connie is where questions, conversations, explanations, and interesting subjects can be shared with visitors.

About Connie is where we explore the collaboration behind those conversations: what works, what doesn't, what we're learning, and how AI fits into the projects and ideas appearing throughout this website.

One is about the questions. The other is about the experience of asking them.

Where Do We Go From Here?

That is a question we ask quite often.

Artificial intelligence is changing rapidly. So are the tools available to people who want to learn, create, investigate, or simply understand something a little better.

This page will grow as the conversations grow. Some subjects may become their own pages. Others may remain short observations, artwork, or memorable exchanges.

There is no requirement that every conversation become a project, or every idea become a finished product.

Curiosity is enough to get started.

A Different Kind of Conversation

Human experience and machine-generated intelligence are not the same thing.

But when they meet in a useful conversation, interesting things can happen.

Kevin asks. Connie responds. Both answers and questions keep coming.
